AI Takes the Helm in Diagnostics and Telemedicine – Weekly Roundup

This week reveals a clear direction of change in the medical industry: artificial intelligence is no longer just an add-on to hardware and systems — it's becoming their core. From Polish hospitals, through American investment funds, to French cardiology, the same pattern is emerging everywhere. We take a look at where capital and technology are flowing, before we meet at Warsaw Medical Expo 2026.

01 · AI in Diagnostics

Poland Leads the Way in AI for Imaging Diagnostics [1]

The Ministry of Health and the e-Health Centre are launching one of the most ambitious AI deployments in imaging diagnostics in Europe. The Intelligent Services Platform (PUI) is set to reach nearly 400 Polish hospitals by December 2026, supporting radiologists in their everyday work. The system will include five AI models: analysis of chest CT scans, stroke detection, fracture recognition, support for breast cancer detection on mammograms, and identification of pathologies on chest X-rays. The entire project is funded by the National Recovery Plan with roughly PLN 150 million. This is a scale that positions Poland as a European pioneer — and a concrete talking point for conversations with diagnostic equipment exhibitors and medical IT providers, who should already be thinking about integrating their solutions with the national AI infrastructure.

02 · Health-Tech Investments

Capital Keeps Flowing into Healthcare AI [2]

The scale of investment in health-tech abroad shows that enthusiasm for AI is backed by hard cash. In August 2026, four medical-sector technology companies raised a combined $291 million. The largest round — $116 million — was closed by Cityblock Health, which is developing a coordinated care model. Happy Health raised $75 million for smart rings that diagnose sleep apnea, Flagler Health secured $50 million for AI tools for orthopedic practices, and the same amount went to Network Bio, which is building disease AI models based on biological data. The common thread across these deals is clear: investors are increasingly betting on companies that combine artificial intelligence with scalable clinical care and real patient data, rather than on standalone diagnostic tools.

03 · Cardiology AI

French Cardiology Gets a $40 Million Injection [3]

Europe is confirming the same investment trend in medical AI. French company Implicity announced on September 9, 2026, that it had secured $40 million in growth funding from IRIS and Five Arrows. The funds will support the global expansion of its AI platform for remote heart monitoring in patients with implanted cardiac devices such as pacemakers or implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Implicity already serves more than 250 medical centers in the US, France, and Germany, monitoring over 120,000 patients daily. The next step will be algorithms that predict the risk of heart failure before a patient's condition clinically deteriorates. It's a good example of how cardiac telemedicine with a solid clinical base can attract serious capital — and an inspiration for Polish companies developing similar e-health solutions.

04 · E-Health & Benefits

The US Health Benefits Ecosystem Grows with New Specializations [4]

This week's final story shows a different dimension of digital transformation — the integration of specialized virtual care into employee benefits systems. In September 2026, the American platform Judi Health expanded its clinical partner ecosystem with three new organizations: Color Health, which offers a virtual oncology clinic; WellTheory, specializing in autoimmune diseases; and Cylinder — a Hinge Health subsidiary focused on gastroenterology care. The latter can already point to concrete results: symptom improvement in 85% of patients within 90 days, and a 25% reduction in spending on medications for gastrointestinal conditions. The model in which employers purchase access to specialized care as part of a benefits package is gaining popularity in the US and could also inspire Polish e-health players looking for new distribution channels.

Summary

Summary

This week makes it clear that AI in medicine is no longer an experiment — it has become critical infrastructure, drawing millions of dollars and złotys in investment, from imaging diagnostics through cardiology to employee benefits. Want to see these technologies live and talk to the people building them? Join us at Warsaw Medical Expo 2026 – the International Medical Fair, where suppliers of diagnostic equipment, e-health solutions, and AI systems supporting physicians will come together.
